Intellectual Property
Overview
Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions, literary and artistic works, symbols, names, and designs. Intellectual property in the medical and pharmaceutical industries plays a critical role in incentivizing innovation and promoting the development of new drugs, medical devices, and treatments. Without intellectual property protections, there would be little incentive for companies to invest the substantial resources needed to bring new products to market.
Our model of sharing is through joint ownership among the partners. Each party has the right to use and commercialize the IP, as well as share in any profits generated. Where cannot use or commercialize the IP, we shall use the licensing model to grant another party a license to use or commercialize the IP in exchange for royalties or other financial compensation.
In order to contribute to advancement in scientific research, we shall use the open source model where our IPs is made freely available to the public, allowing anyone to use, modify, and distribute it without restriction, especially in areas for software or other digital technologies.
In promoting equity, we shall use the consortium model where multiple parties pool resources and expertise to develop new IP, we will share ownership and commercialization rights shared among the members of the consortium.
